Lewis Farm Bird Sanctuary for 3-miles of snowshoeing with Tippi.
The site is almost 90 acres of former farmland that has been reverting to woodland for four or five decades. Mostly wooded, traversed by a stream emerging from a wetland and with a small pond in another low area, it lies at about 150 ft elevation in central Suffield, CT.

Big loop of a run in Hawley - Dubuque State Forest with Tippi. We were joined by a random hiker's dog for most of the run as the dog seemed excited to see Tippi and the hiker told us to "take him with you". I warned that it would be a couple hours and that was fine, so we had company.
Come to find out, the hiker was an ancestor of Harrison Parker, the historian from Hawley that had written the fine guide to the forest. I had corresponded with Mr. Parker way back in the early 1990's via postal mail - he was a wonderful resource for me with regard to learning Hawley.

I organized this one, borrowing from the original we did back in March of 2003. This time, we kept "official" score.
61 completed route on a very deep snow day!
Tippi and I completed the course in the dark, pre-race, checking all the markings and arrows before hand.

We really got our monies worth today (Tippi and I).
A) We went over the course/markings for Saturday's Moby Dick event on Greylock for 7.5-miles.
B) We marked the Hallockville Orchard course for Sunday's event for an additional 3.5-miles.
Totaled up 11-miles for the day, and a few hundred miles of driving.
