Meanwhile, I re-visited the DAR State Forest to ramble with Tippi for 4-miles.  Bit milder today, with minimal wind, a mere 10-degrees yet sunny and bright.

Great day, 20th of 96 finishers.

2nd Annual Hoot, Toot & Whistle 5km Snowshoe Race
January 23rd, 2010 - Catamount Ski Trail - Readsboro, VT

16th of 108 finishers at the Dion's course. 

Visited the DAR State Forest in Goshen, Massachusetts to snowshoe with Tippi.  4.5-miles to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr day.

6th Annual Brave the Blizzard 3.9-Mile Snowshoe  Race

Snow once again in Guilderland!  I didn't make the event, but 134 finishers did!

11th Annual Greylock Glen 3.7-Mile Snowshoe Race
January 16th, 2010 - Adams,  Massachusetts

Race Directing duties at the larger than ever Greylock Glen Snowshoe Race at the Mount Greylock State Reservation, in the Adams Glen...

123 total finishers, which at the time is the largest number of snowshoers at a single event in Massachusetts.

Made a couple loops with Tippi before and after the event, for a total of 8-miles.

Another day preparing the Greylock Glen Course for Saturday's event, with Tippi for 3.7-miles.

Stopped on the return trip from Adams to explore snowmobile trails at Paddy Hill & Barrus Road with Tippi.

2nd Annual Turner Trail 5.0-Mile Snowshoe Race
January 9th, 2010 - Pittsfield State Forest - Pittsfield, MA

Missed another, 77 finsishers.

Meanwhile, I was in Adams to visit with my Pop who is in the hospital, so I took a late afternoon trip to Windsor State Forest (only a very short ride from my folks home) to allow Tippi and I to let off some stress.

Took the new snowmobile route out to the frozen Windsor Pond, and explored some of the old country road down to the swampy area the Bandit and I used to use for our long-distance runs through this area.  Ended with 3.8-miles before getting back to have dinner with my Mom.

Stopped along the drive to check on my Pop (hospital) to let Tippi stretch her legs a bit as we explored snowmobile trails at Paddy Hill & Barrus Road with Tippi.  Finished with 3.5-miles.

A visit to Jesse Smithtown Forest to complete 2.3-miles of snowshoeing with Tippi.

2.8-miles at Stony Brook Park, snowshoeing with Tippi.

3.7-miles at the Bird Sanctuary with Tips.

Drove out to Windsor Bush and Windigo Road to snowshoe 4.8-miles with Tippi.

Bird Sanctuary for 3.5-miles of snowshoeing, bringing in the New Year!
