Last day of our camping trip, we made the most of it as DL, Dusty and I managed to hike up the Indian Trail to the saddle between Clark and Todd Mountains.

Rain throughout the night upon our tent, but we stayed dry enough in the Mohawk Trail State Forest's large, tall white pine.   

Drove into Shelbourne Falls to run the Bridge of Flowers 10km (42:13), and we swam in the Glacial Potholes at Salmon Falls afterward.

During the early evening we put the canoe in the Deerfield River and spent a couple peaceful hours paddling.

Drove out to Savoy Mountain State Forest to hike with DL and Dusty.  We climbed Borden Mountain (Tower 51) and visited Tannery Falls.

For the Mount Greylock Half-Marathon Trail Race.

I completed the race in 1:52:13, which placed me in 19th position.

I finished in 42:18, in 19th place.

  • Old Adams Road back to the Cheshire Harbor

I returned to the Soapstone Mountain Half-Marathon.  Another improvement over last year, this time I finished the 13.75-miles in 1:57:35.

Drove down to southern Connecticut to participate in the 1st Cockaponsett Jay Walk.  This was listed as a 6.4-mile trail race, and I finished in 47:48;  21st place.

Sunday, April 25, 1993

The New England Trail Running season began again at 7 Sisters.

This 12-mile trail race on the Holyoke Range crushed me last year, but today I redeemed myself by running 2:34:23 and feeling much better doing it.  I could actually eat afterward.
