Very sore right ankle and tendon (ankle and achilles) worked against me this month.

A low Peak Count once again... and only by bicycle....

On Turtle Effigy Trail between the Turtle Effigy and the intersection of Small Perched Rock Trail, on the opposite side of the shallow ravine to the south, I sighted two large moose about 100' from me.  They were both very sizable and dark featured.

Ended the day with 5.4-miles, with a great section of stonewalls recorded as data points.

Eve of Destruction

November 2022 Lunar Eclipse.

A total lunar eclipse occurred on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. 

The southern limb of the Moon passed through the center of the Earth's shadow. It surpassed the previous eclipse as the longest total lunar eclipse visible from nearly all of North America since August 17, 1989, and until June 26, 2029.

Occurring only 5.8 days before apogee (on November 14, 2022), the Moon's apparent diameter was smaller. The next total lunar eclipse will take place on March 14, 2025. 

A lunar occultation of Uranus happened during the eclipse. It was the first total lunar eclipse on Election Day in US history. This event was referred in media coverage as a "beaver blood moon".

Bash Bish Falls Marathon

November 2, 1997 - South Taconic Trail, MA & NY

The Old Goat, the Gullivers, and a few others rambled out to Bash Bish Falls to participate in a marathon along the South Taconic Trail.  

I managed 26-miles in 6:28:00, with the last few miles being in a driving rain.  

This was my 18th marathon.

National Native American Heritage Month begins today.
