Flew back home from Jackson, Mississippi today.

Our Route for the 4-5 days covered Birmingham, Alabama through Jackson, Mississippi to Monroe, Louisiana.  We took some "on-purpose" detours as well.

Before we leave, I want to post photographs from yesterday at the The Pocahontas Mounds.  These Mounds are an archaeological site in Pocahontas, Mississippi. Primarily consisting of two mounds: Pocahontas Mound A and Pocahontas Mound B.  These mounds were added to the National Register of Historic Places. Dating back to 800 CE, remains and artifacts such as pottery, burial grounds were recovered from the site. Today, the site is a roadside rest stop area, where visitors can also learn about the history of the mounds.
