Last snowshoe of the season, figured on exploring Florida Mountain from our property.
Tippi and I rambled into Vermont, totally no idea where the route was taking us.
Once into "civilization" again (a plowed dirt road), we stuck to it and then Tilda Hill Road later on for a total of 8.5-miles in 2:49:00 (1:49 snowshoe and another hour on dirt and Tilda Hill Road.

Took Tippi out to DAR State Forest in Goshen, and decided we would snowshoe along the snowmobile corridor north towards Ashfield / Plainfield.
Felt great throughout the run. making great time. The forest throughout was beautiful, and the day a fine cold sunny one. We completed the 16-miles in 3:05:00.

8th Annual Greylock Glen 3.5-Mile Snowshoe Race
March 4th, 2007 - Adams, Massachusetts
March 4th, 2007 - Adams, Massachusetts
Race Directing duties with PH at the eighth Greylock Glen Snowshoe Race at the Mount Greylock State Reservation, in the Adams Glen...
This was the race where PH and I were talking with our friend KC at Hawley the day before; PH and I were undecided on what the course would be for the Greylock event, and KC mentioned that he always liked the original route. PH said "if KC wants the original route, we'll do the original route".
For the race I managed a 5th out of 23 total finishers.

4th Covered Bridge Snowshoe Races
February 24th, 2007 - Greylock Glen - Adams, MA
February 24th, 2007 - Greylock Glen - Adams, MA
PH and I continued our "two-for-one" event; two distances with a break in the middle. You could stop after the Hoxie-Thunderbolt 3.5-miles, or continue for another 4.5-miles (total of 8-miles) for the full Covered Bridge experience.
I crossed the line 10th out of 56 in the short stuff, and 7th out of 30 for the full blown Covered Bridge Race.
