Drove back to Granville to link Beach Hill Road to North Lane No. 1, since I've been at it awhile and feel close to completing the way through.
Found the route I needed, works wonderfully within the rest of my "network". Basically at an exit from the Phelon Memorial Forest near the gas-pipe line right of way.
5.2-miles of hiking, with a few steps of running here and there. The toe is not ready for full-time running activity yet.
Old news department...
On this day in 2009, Tippi and I explored the Robert Frost Trail through Sunderland and Amherst (I think). It was a day after a really hard rain, so the brooks and streams were really roaring. We ended up losing a bunch of time "off trail" around Eastman Brook.
We parked at Amethyst Brook and did a bit south, then north to the foot of Bull Hill. Outstanding area that I would like to return to.

In remembrance of Wuzzam's dog Sam... RIP July 22nd, 2019...
Sam was my dog Tippi's best friend, and the only dog she ever gave way to. Sam was just so big and strong, Tips realized and respected that. What a beautiful pair of animals they were as they ran freely though the woods with us. I will remember them splashing in the streams we came across, Tippi yapping away at Sam because he fetched the stick first (or grabbed it out of her mouth). Time goes on but I truly miss them both, still.

Back out to Granville, trying to find my way from Beach Hill Road to North Lane through the woods.
Gave it a go, wandered, bushwhacked some, and found an old wide path that has promise.
Smashed my sore left big toe badly around the 2-mile point, and broke the darn thing but good.
Shuffled and walked another mile, then turned back in the drizzle.
3.9-miles, with some promise that I am on a good route. The toe aches badly.
On an additional side note of good-fortune, I passed my eye exam today -- another year with fine vision.
